Chris (ckemp@ro.comp),
Somewhere on netnews I saw your answer on a posting about a PAR or VLM ?
querie.
As I am now for 4 years hobbying with Imagine, Lightwave and the likes..
I am now at a point I really need nice 25 fps output to video. My A4000
doesn't cut the big delta's in my anims anymore..
I would really appreciate if you could share your experience with the
VLM with me, also particular in combination with the Tocatta soundcard.
Here are some questions, but please feel free to write your 'own story':
- I know you can digitize and output video, but can it output amiga
anims at 25 fps in nice quality ?
- What harddisk size/speed are we looking for when we want the least
compression possible ?
- Does the Tocatta do a good job digitizing, can it digitize from CD, DAT
etc. directly to HD ?
- Is synchronising sound with anims a possibility ?
Since I red a really positive article about the VLM in a Dutch Amiga
magazine, I am very interested indeed. Its just that a PAR is to
expensive and I need good amateur/semi-proffesional output, so no need
for betacam and the likes.
If its important, here's my setup;
A4000 040/25 mhz, 18MB mem.
1 * 420Mb HD , standard IDE (Conner)
1 * 1.1Gb HD , standard IDE (Quantum Fireball; 9 ms - 1.7 mb/s)
Nec 3D mon.
I hope you can mail me some info, Chris ! Also counts for any '3D heads'
on the Lightwave maillist !
Looking forward to your reply,
Kees Pronk, The Hague, The Netherlands.
